Mark Bloom

Mark is a registered patent attorney who has more than twenty years of broad-based business and legal experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and medical diagnostic software industries.

Mark served as outside patent counsel for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute and as a marketing and legal consultant for Harvard Medical School Funds for Discovery Program. Mark was also Associate General Counsel and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel-CCF Innovations, for Cleveland Clinic and was a Licensing Associate with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), the technology transfer management organization for the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mark has completed over 4,000 licensing, development, evaluation, research, clinical trial, technology transfer and other intellectual property agreements and has been involved in the creation of 17 high-technology companies. To date, Mark has given 69 public presentations on a variety of relevant topics and has 20 publications, including three book chapters.

Mark received his B.S. from The Ohio State University and his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center. While at Pierce Law, he served as Issue Editor of IDEA: The Journal of Law and Technology and was a FPLC/MITResearch Fellow in Technology, Business, and Law.

He is licensed to practice before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition, Mark is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the Licensing Executives Society - USA & Canada (LES), the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
